"Pravin opened an account in Canada, and that account he encouraged people to put in money there when they had problems with SARS"
EFF leader Julius Malema has opened a criminal case against Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan. This comes just a day after Gordhan opened a case against Malema.
Addressing his supporters Malema asked why did Gordhan open a civil case against him because he could have just written a letter through his attorney.
"Pravin came to open a case here. Why is he opening a case on civil claims because civil claims you don't open a case. You just write a letter from the lawyers and say to Malema withdraw what you said, and apologize otherwise I will sue you," said Malema.
Malema also told his supporters that he presented the police with concrete evidence of Pravin Gordhan's.
"We brought evidence that Pravin established illegal intelligence unit in SARS and he contravened the Intelligence Act of South Africa."
"So we said to you that Pravin opened an account in Canada, and that account he encouraged people to put in money there when they had problems with SARS. I said to the police I have got a list of people who were told to put the money and given an account. I have got the list of people who put the money into the account. They are prepared to speak on condition you offer them indemnity," Malema said.
