DEPARTMENT CONFIRMS TENDERS AWARDED TO PRAVIN GORDHAN'S DAUGTHER

Just days after EFF leader, Julius Malema made claims that Enterprises Minister, Pravin Gordhan's daughter is making millions of rands from doing business with government, one department has confirmed Malema's claim.

The Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries led by Minister Senzeni Zokwana has confirmed that Vox Telecommunications received amount to R18 million. According to CIPC records, Gordhan's daughter Anusha Gordhan is listed as a director.

The EFF wrote to all Ministers and SOEs asking whether any of them has ever awarded tenders to Anusha Gordhan. They provided a list of companies in which Anusha is listed as a director.

In a statement issued by the party yesterday, the EFF claims that Afrit Propco, Vox Holdings, Interpair Services, Simiglo, Cancerian Investements, Phuma Finance and others had lucrative tenders with government.

Social media is buzzing with numerous claims that Anisha has been making millions from government tenders. Minister Gordhan refuted all these claims and challenged anyone with information to present it to the Zondo's commission of State Capture.

Many has described this call by Gordhan as a whitewash because the commission is not established to entertain allegation that have nothing to do with state capture. It is not clear why Gordhan suggests that allegations that are not linked to state capture must be directed to the commission.

Yesterday EFF reiterated its call that Gordhan must clear himself by responding to questions sent to him last week.

The EFF also wants to know if Minister Gordhan does have a bank account in Canada. Floyd Shivambu earlier claimed that Gordhan asked people who had problems at SARS to deposit monies via his Canada account.
